Beth Loring, Founder & Principal, Loring Human Factors, LLC
Beth is a Certified Human Factors Professional (CHFP) with 30 years of experience in product design and usability, having expertise in user requirements gathering, ethnography, ergonomics, user interface design, and usability testing. For medical device clients, Beth leads user research studies in clinical settings, conducts formative and summative usability tests, and advises manufacturers on the human factors engineering components of their FDA 510(k), PMA, and CE Mark regulatory submissions. Before founding Loring Human Factors, Beth led usability teams at Radius, Farm Design, Bentley University, and IDEO. She is author of over 31 papers and articles and contributor to four books. She is co-author with Joseph Dumas of Moderating Usability Tests: Principles and Practices for Interacting (Elsevier, 2008). Beth is past chair of Boston SIGCHI and New England Chapter of HFES, and a member of BCPE and UXPA. She holds an MS in Engineering Design and a BS in Engineering Psychology, both from Tufts University.
