Location: Biomed Room 1
Date: Wednesday, September 16
Time: 2:00pm - 2:45pm
Track: Track A: Exploring Technologies Supporting the Digital Health Revolution
Vault Recording: TBD
While ORs are one of the most critical areas of a hospital, historically they have had a very low degree of technological savvy. In the last decade, there has been a significant transition thanks to technology adoption, giving way to digital surgery. This presentation will examine the key technologies in minimally invasive surgery, from the surgical robotics, to real-time imaging and AI driven devices that are transforming the way surgeons operate and ultimately the results that they are able to achieve. Topics will include:
- Addressing the risks and rewards of robotic-assisted surgeries
- Will real-time imaging be the game changer for surgeons?
- Can digitization of surgery enable (semi)-autonomous surgical robotics?
- The potential of predictive modeling and artificial intelligence (AI) in surgery
