AI Apocalypse: Is it Time to be Scared Yet?

Max "the Magnificent" Maxfield (Editor-in-Chief, EEWeb.com, AspenCore)

Location: Engineering Theater

Date: Wednesday, May 15

Time: 11:00am - 11:45am

Track: Engineering Theater

Vault Recording: TBD

The pace of technological development -- especially in the realm of information technology — is speeding up at an exponential rate. Even those of us who "live and breathe" this stuff find it hard to keep track of new developments. Some of these technologies — like the combination of augmented reality (AR) and artificial intelligence (AI) — are poised to dramatically change the ways in which we store, access, and manipulate information; the ways in which we interact with the outside world, our systems, and each other; and the ways in which the outside world (in the form of governments, mega-corporations, and bad-actors) accesses and manipulates us.

In this free-roving unscripted session, Max Maxfield will host an interactive discussion in which he and members of the audience will share their thoughts on what was, what is, and what is to come. Although not compulsory, it is suggested everyone wear aluminum beanies on the off-chance the robot apocalypse kicks off during the presentation.
