Robert Boyer (aka Bobby) is a Sr. Mechanical Engineer at HS-Design, Inc. (HSD), an ISO 13485:2003 certified user centered product development firm. At HSD Bobby is more than just an engineer; he is also one of the top Program Managers and a crucial member of the business development team. Bobby has extensive experience creating intricate medical devices for fortune 500 companies and start-ups. He has worked on and/or managed numerous device development projects over the years, from auto-pens/injectors, to imaging systems, to opioid tolerance device, to various consumer products. He has expertise in concept design, intricate mechanical systems, complex molded part design, product development, business development, and start-up mentoring. Bobby was a key member in designing, engineering, and producing a first-of-kind medical imaging system which won multiple awards including a MDEA 2017, IDEA Gold 2017, and a Core 77 award. Bobby has also has spoken at conferences on the topic of utilizing augmented reality in design and is named in multiple patents for drug delivery devices. Bobby also serves as a mentor for the Collaborative for Technology, Entrepreneurship and Commercialization (CTEC) course at Rutgers University; assisting graduate students in forming businesses using existing unused patents from the university. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology and a MBA from Sacred Heart University.
