Augmented Reality (AR) is fast becoming the future of digital interfaces in the medical world. AR is already being used in medical and healthcare space ranging from education, surgery planning and guidance, to patient documentation and patient care. As more medical companies take advantage of this growing trend, they will be faced with the requirement to test their digital experiences against the needs, goals and contexts of the end-users. This presentation will explore opportunities and challenges in replacing traditional GUI interaction with AR. Case Studies will be used to illustrate current methodologies in UX design thinking, and human factors methods for testing AR interfaces to accelerate and advance the product development process and validate end user needs.
